Independence
Verdicts on this site are written before any commerce consideration. A product earns a pick because of its specification sheet, its evidence base and its disqualifier pass — never because a brand offers a commission rate, a placement fee or early access. We don't accept payment for reviews, placements or "sponsored verdicts", and we don't return products in exchange for coverage terms.
How picks are chosen
The process is documented publicly in How We Test. Two rules matter most in daily practice:
- Every pick names its own disqualifiers — the situations where it is the wrong choice. A recommendation without stated limits isn't a recommendation.
- When no product in a category deserves a recommendation, the article says so instead of forcing three picks onto the page.
Affiliate links and labels
Some links on pages that recommend products are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The full mechanics are in our Affiliate Disclosure. In short:
- Where a page contains affiliate links, a visible disclosure sits directly above the recommendations — on the same screen, not buried in the footer.
- Affiliate links route through our own outbound page before leaving the site, where the disclosure is repeated before you continue.
- Links are marked for search engines as paid/sponsored relationships.
- Commerce never influences which product wins a verdict. If a brand's affiliate program changes, its position in our recommendations doesn't move with it.
Corrections
Mistakes get fixed in place, with the article's update date moved to reflect the change. Material corrections to a verdict are noted in the text itself. If you spot an error, email hello@deviceverdict.com — we'd rather be corrected than confident.

We use research tools to gather and cross-check specifications, the way any editorial team uses reference tools. Every claim published here is anchored to a checkable source listed in the article. We do not publish unreviewed machine-generated reviews, and we do not fabricate first-person testing experiences under any circumstances.
