The short version
This is a content site. We publish articles; you read them. We do not require accounts, we do not ask for your name, and we do not sell data. As of this policy's date, the site sets no analytics or advertising cookies of its own and loads no third-party tracking scripts.
What we collect
- Server logs. Like virtually every website, our hosting provider processes standard request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and operation. These logs are retained by the host under its own retention policy and are not used to profile readers.
- Email you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and message, and we use them only to reply.
What we don't do
- No newsletter signups, no account system, no comment forms that store personal data.
- No analytics cookies set by us, and no data sold or rented to anyone.
- No advertising networks on the site.
If we later enable privacy-respecting analytics, this policy will be updated first, and analytics will be configured to deny cookies by default for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.
Outbound links
Links to external sites — retailers, manufacturers, sources — are governed by those sites' own privacy policies, which we don't control. Our outbound page exists partly so that leaving the site is a visible, deliberate step for you.
Children
The site is intended for a general adult audience and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Your rights
Because we hold no reader databases, there is generally nothing to export or delete. If you believe we hold personal data about you (for example, an email you sent us) and want it removed, email hello@deviceverdict.com and we will handle it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date above will move and the change will be described in place.
